As part of Hark Society’s mission to help activities reach kids, we host frequent, weekend volunteer events across New York City in partnership with schools, community based organizations, and existing non-profits that champion missions similar to our own. Our volunteer events offer a fun and engaging experience to our community of Hark volunteers and are an opportunity for young professionals to spend time with youth in a meaningful way. Volunteer events take many forms ranging from painting schools with Publicolor to golf lessons and resume workshops with First Tee. On a consistent basis, Hark Society’s volunteer team is reaching out to potential partners to fill our ongoing calendar of volunteer activities. As Hark Society continues to grow, opportunities to volunteer have been an integral part of our new financial literacy curriculum.
How do I volunteer?
Volunteer events are an easy way to get involved with Hark Society. Hark affiliates are invited to sign up for each individual volunteer event. Prior to a volunteer event, Hark Society’s team reaches out to our network of young professionals, giving all those who are interested in participating an opportunity to do so. Because of the variety of volunteer opportunities we provide, there is something for everyone who is looking to get involved.
In The Community
Hark has hosted two volunteer events with Publicolor. On each occasion, our volunteers paired one-on-one to mentor Publicolor scholars for the day while repainting two New York City public schools in the Bronx and Harlem.
Alongside children and teens who benefit from The Stanley M. Isaacs Neighborhood Center’s afterschool programs, Hark helped restore and revitalize their community center.
A dozen Hark Volunteers conducted an interview workshop for The First Tee Juniors before playing the course for a 9-hole scramble.
